urgh, the internet is unacceptably slow. took me almost an hour to just get into the new-post window.
oh! i forgot to share a good cute news with all of you when i updated my bloggie a few days ago.
i have 2 babies now *yeay!*
no no, i didn't get pregnant and yes, obviously i didn't deliver.
Hubby and I got for ourselves kittens from SPCA in Jalan Ampang. last weekend, The Boss gave us her husband's car to run errands for them, and when we're done, they allowed us to keep the car over the weekends. at first, we didn't know where to go round the area until the idea struck me. i've always wanted to go to SPCA in kL. my first visit to SPCA was in Penang, but it was a smaller one compared to the one in Jalan Ampang.
so yeah, we went there with Chris after had lunch with him. they had this adoption drive campaign and there were still a few visitors coming in eventhough the place was already closed. we got in too and we went around the place looking for something that might interest us.
chup! just to share - Hubby is not a fan of cats or kittens. he's more to dogs and puppies. so yeah, kittens or cats are not first in the list. continue reading..
we went to the dogs and puppies area first. my my, they were so cute! and i really don't understand why would human torture them and make their life miserable? the volunteers were very helpful and very kind too. they were excited to know that we're such animal lovers.
now, let me promote a bit about the adoption drive. for puppies or dogs of both male of female, the package of deworming and some-other-things-else-which-i-cant-remember would be rm200++. if you are willing enough to bear the smell and noise and walk around the dogs' kennels, you'll find some good breed dogs. when i went there, i saw 2 scottish terriers, 2 beagels, 3 lambradors and i think i saw one golden retriver. and oh yes, no forgetting the noisy chihuahua and poodle. and yes, the volunteers keep them all clean, healthy and happy.
for cats and kittens - it comes a package of rm150 for each feline. Hubby was interested with 3 puppies, until he came to the cats section. he found a tom kitten, orange-gingerish in colour and he instantly fell in love with the fella. the kitten really made Hubby hooked till he had to persuade me of taking the kitten home. and i couldn't say no. as Hubby was busy poking around the kitten, i saw one tiny white and grey figure under a shelter. it was a lost kitten. i assumed she just got in from somewhere and still in hiding mode. i asked the volunteers why didn't they catch her and put her up in the cage like other cats. they told me, the kitten was so afraid till she didn't want to come out from under the shelter.
somehow, i felt something was urging me to go and give it a try - to persuade the kitten to come out. my first trial was almost successful till one of the volunteers came along and gave the kitten a fright. then i tried the second time, now with some kittens biscuits knowing that the kitten was hungry. and she came and ate from my hand! she was shivering while eating her food. and i took her in my hands and gave her a warm cuddle.
and because of that, the volunteers gave her to me without paying anything. yes, free of charge. if not, 2 kittens meant we're supposed to pay SPCA rm300, not including a pet voyager and some other necessities. and from that day onwards, we have 2 new family members.
the tom kitten was named Maximillian. Hubby called him Maxi Boy. very hyperactive, very playful and masculine indeed. the other half was named Qarnillea. we usually called her Baby. the first 2 days in the house, she was still feeling insecure. but now, she gained her appetite and is quite playful too.
and since our salary had cleared out this morning, me and Hubby planning to get for the kids (yes, we called them our kids):
1. their bed - 2 for about rm120 i think.
2. shampoo
3. towels
4. bathing scrubber
5. tears cleaner
6. ear cleaner
7. toys! of different types
8. cod liver oil
9. fur-brush
10. scratch pad
and lots more. oh, we also need to clean the house since they love to be in the corners and under some furnitures.
for now, i can't post their pictures cause i haven't grab a camera yet. so stay put! and if i mention bout "kids" in my next posts, you'll know to whom im refering to *winks*
