Monday Blues in Syawal

Today is the 6th day of Syawal. Means it's 6th October. Monday. And im feeling very sleepy, super duper lazy; hence moody. *blur*

This morning i came to work a bit late - 5 mins late. I was quite shocked to see the office empty. There's only one chinese researcher there, and that's about it. I checked the sign-in file, and found myself even more surprised. Noone signed in yet for work except for me. Hm..that's good i guess.Hopefully i can have a bit of bliss around here for today since im feeling a bit of tensed and kind of on the verge of berserk.

This Aidilfitri, i didn't go home for the celebration. Why? Here's why..

  1. Because airlines tickets are sold out months before Aidilfitri.
  2. The tickets are soo freaking expensive! It costs me a month salary.
  3. Raya holidays are only 2 days as public holidays.
  4. I was informed later that I have actually 6 days of annual leave (which at first i didn't know)..and i was informed just few days before Raya.
  5. I have a stupid appoinment from Agilent on 3rd Syawal.

Basically, i went for worked last friday while others were having their nice time holiday-ing. It was very very boring. Office and labs were empty. It was so quiet, hence creepy. But then again, that didn't mean my holidays weren't fun. I had fun too eventhough i didn't get a chance to celebrate it with my family in my hometown.

These were how my Aidilfitri went on:

  • Eve of Aidilfitri : Half day work, went home and had a nice nap. Watch tv all night long.
  • 1st of Syawal : Called home, talked to some family members. I successfully stopped myself from shedding any tears that morning. Then my very understanding Hubby gave me his best to cheer me up. Cooked for both of us a delicious meal of Macaroni n Cheese.
  • 2nd of Syawal: Hubby knew i was still thinking about home, so he decided to bring me to Digital Mall for a threat. Picked a game (Football Manager 2008) for myself. And Hubby taught me to play the game so good that i am now addicted to it.
  • 4th of Syawal : Had a nice afternoon with Hani, went visiting to her house. Chit-chatted bout a lot of things and news to keep myself updated. Got a chance to meet her warming and friendly family, and also her new guy.

Yeah, i know that wasn't much to have fun with, but im contented. Enough to say that my Raya celebration in KL wasn't so bad after all :)
