"If we could see the miracle of a single
flower clearly, our whole life would change.."
- We wish for it, we want it to be true, BUT we dont work for it.
- We wish for it, we want it to be true, AND work for it.
There's a difference in two sentences above. How a simple word like BUT and AND can change the whole perspective, view and meaning of a sentence. That's how we all will work too. How the smallest, simplest thing can bring such an impact in our lives. A sour, gloomy, sulky face can becomes sweet with only one sincere smile. How a touch of a loved one can wake a patient up from coma. How a kiss can seal a lovely vow between two hearts..and it goes on.
Same goes with how we live our lives. Most of the people nowadays are either arrogant, ignorant, snobby, selfish, and so on so on, and it becomes worse each day. I agree that nothing and noone is perfect in this world, but why can't we at least be an angel to each other? I can even count with my fingers how many real friends I have now, compared to when I was younger.
I recalled one incident. I was very young at that time, was about 4-5 years old. I always play with some friend in the neighbourhood, and all of us are in one gang. We played together, we did fight, yes but after a moment we shrug it off. Once, i was bullied by an older kid. That time, i was playing alone cause i sulked away from my friends. I cried loud enough for my friends to come and help me and stood up for me against the bully. Even when i am still sulking at them, they still come and help me when im in need.
Let's compared it with the attitude that we see nowadays. Friends backstab each other, b*tching behind each other's back. Selfish, just thinking for themselves. But when they come face to face, they'll put on fake smiles, fake laughs and pretended to be so sincere, so happy with each other, and not keeping any hard feelings. Oh oh. I think I got the right words of how to tell this in a better way:
"Hide behind your smiles..All the world loves a clown.."
-Madonna in Take a Bow-
Yeap. Madonna's right. Most of the people I meet nowdays are like a clown. Some are just like a visitor or guest to a masquerade party. But I hate the former the most. Why? Because clowns put on stupid, silly make-up, paint one BIG RED smile on the face and he'll be wandering around trying to make others happy when he's actually trying to use them for his sake. Or should i say..just as a joke?
What Buddha quoted was true though, come to think of it. Life is like a flower. First you are a seed. Then you grows slowly into the world and learn some stuff. Then depends on you, you choose your path. Either you multiply yourself, give honey to the bees, or you can just be a useless weed.
Another way to say this better, is through one of my favorite poems:
The Road Not Taken
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the
difference.-Robert Frost-
